Morel Farm - The Chapel
Morel Farm - The Chapel
2 Adults | 1 InfantThis Grade 2 listed house has recently been converted from a potato store, but has always been called the Chapel due to the ship's bell in the belfry, over the front door. It has been delightfully refurbished throughout and provides a beautiful 1 bedroom home that would make the perfect holiday cottage for a couple or a couple with an infant.
Inside, the house is comfortable and cosy with a woodburner in the sitting area and a TV, books and games for rainy days. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bathroom is on the ground floor whilst upstairs the whole of the first floor is taken up with a large bedroom, with a double bed. There is space for an infant’s travel cot, which will be provided on request. The bathroom is stocked with complimentary toiletries from Bramley whose products are based on essential oils. The National Trust for Jersey also offers a welcome pack including local ingredients.
Located in the centre of the island, on a Green Lane (where the maximum speed for vehicles is 15 mph, and priority is given to walkers and riders), Morel Farm offers a tranquil country location, ideally placed to explore the island as a whole. You’ll often hear the clip-clop of horses’ hooves on the local roads.
Morel Farm consists of 3 houses. The main Farmhouse, the Bakehouse and the Chapel, all of which are available as self-catering accommodation. Group bookings can be taken for any combination of the three houses, and as the Farm can accommodate up to 12 adults this makes the houses particularly suitable for family and other reunions. Between the Farmhouse and the Chapel is a cobbled farmyard off which is the Pressoir, which contains a traditional timber cider press and a Chausey granite apple crusher. The Pressoir is open for guests to view the historic press and crusher.
Guests using The Chapel have shared use of the large walled garden, sown with a special wildflower mix and incorporating seating areas where grown ups can relax and children can play safely.
The bedroom is big enough to accommodate a travel cot for an infant, if required, please request at time of booking.
